At Planted Flag Brewing, we believe every pint tells a story—and ours is one of service, family, and community.

Aaron Wirtz turned his lifelong passion for brewing into reality after retiring from years of military service as a KC-135 Pilot. His dedication to perfecting the craft and sharing it with others inspired the creation of Planted Flag Brewing. Karen Wirtz began her journey in the Air Force as a Russian Linguist, later serving as an officer and logistician. After years of service, she chose a new mission: raising her three children, a role she considers the most meaningful of all. Karen, an author as well as a devoted mother, contributes her storytelling spirit to the soul of Planted Flag.

In March 2020, they opened the doors to Planted Flag Brewing with a vision: to create a place where great beer and even greater connections could thrive. From day one, they’ve been committed to crafting exceptional brews, building a welcoming space while supporting other local businesses and veterans, strengthening the bonds within the community they proudly serve.

Our incredible team is the heart of what we do. From brewing beer and crafting food to serving and welcoming, our staff’s dedication and talent bring the Planted Flag vision to life every day. Together, we create more than just beer; we create moments worth savoring.

We proudly source ingredients from local farms and collaborate with small businesses that share our values, ensuring quality and care in every pint while investing in the place we call home. The names of our beers are as unique as the people who inspire them, each one a nod to the stories and personalities that make this community special.
